Apunix's Network Backup Daemon(TM) automatically backs up a complete network of SPARC®, Sun®, SGI® and many other UNIX based workstations. The standard UNIX dump and rdump commands are used to write the data. System administrators are kept informed of any unusual occurrences during the previous night's backup. NBD can be used with Apunix's QuickChange(TM) Robotic Library Software to perform sequential backups to several tapes for large capacity requirements. A full featured device driver installs easily either as a loadable module or is configured into the kernel using Apunix's industry renowned automatic installation software. NBD displays all important logs and counters maintained by the tape subsystem. The NBD Software Kit also includes Apunix FarTool for fast archiving applications. Tapes are written in tar compatible format and can be read at remote sites without special software or drivers. Only Apunix offers a utility that implements true Quick File Access for archiving applications. Using QFA, FarTool(TM) can extract at speeds 20 to 200 times that of "tar".
